Abby Chandler is cofounder of Top Dog Bracing. She is a Certified and Licensed Prosthetist and Orthotist. She has 15 years experience in orthotics and prosthetics for humans in the Knoxville area. Her interest in small animal orthotics and prosthetics started back in 2002, when she was a University of Tennessee student. Her Biomedical Engineering Design Project in collaboration with the University of Tennessee Veterinary Hospital was redesigning prostheses for a yellow lab that was missing his carpals and phalanges on the both front legs. This design project is what initially got her interested in the field of prosthetics and orthotics. Seventeen years later, Abby feels called back to working with animals and helping them be more comfortable with the use of an orthosis or prosthesis.
Abby truly enjoys working in the Orthotics and Prosthetics field because she feels that she is making a positive impact in each pet’s life. Abby is married and has two boys and a girl. She enjoys hiking with her husband, kids and dog, Shoog.
